Dr. Jill Carroll Praises Gulen's IdeasDr.Jill Carroll of Rice University has become a best selling author with her book "A Dialog of Civilizations: Gulen's Islamic Ideals and Humanistic Discourse" Dr. Carroll talked to Ebru news about the her book.

Dr. Jill Carroll who is an associate professor in religious studies at Rice University, in Texas drew attention with her book ranking number one on the Amazon bestseller list. Visiting Samanyolu TV in Turkiye, Carroll said she wrote her book as a result of the ideas of Gulen which she was inspired by.

Carroll suggested Gulen's teachings today help humanity to satisfy its greater spiritual hunger and she added especially in the Western world Gulen with his works is bridging the dialogue between people with vastly different worldviews.

Dr. Carroll said there are deep convictions on which people of any culture can agree although some deep-rooted history of disagreement over beliefs still exists. She went on to say she presented Gulen's views alongside philosophers of vastly different perspectives, such as Kant and Sartre, to reveal how people of diverse backgrounds can hold certain, core beliefs about humanity.

Carroll said Gulen differs from the rest of the philosophers with his universal framework which is the religio-philosophical worldview of Islam.

Carroll summarized people do not need to be the same, but they should find enough similarity between each other; therefore, they can hold hands as fellow travelers in this life, despite their mindful differences in a great number of ways.
