Georgetown University in Washington D.C. is hosting the conference "Islam in the Age of Global Challenges: The Alternative Perspective of the Gülen Movement" that began Friday. During the opening speech, Father Thomas Michel, Georgetown educator and formerly responsible for the Vatican's interreligious dialogue, said the Gülen movement was important for interreligious dialogue, global education, and addressing poverty.
